Temperament & personality

AdventurousAffectionatePlayfulBraveSocial

The Siberian is Russia's national cat and a natural breed developed in the cold of Siberia. It has a powerful body, a dense triple coat and a lively, playful character. The Siberian is known to be hypoallergenic – many allergy sufferers tolerate this breed better than others, likely due to lower Fel d1 production. The cat is social and adventurous, and thrives well with children, dogs and other cats.

🏥 Health

The Siberian is generally a healthy breed with few known hereditary diseases. HCM has been reported and should be tested. The breed is robust and adaptable. Regular veterinary check-ups are recommended as with all breeds.

✂️ Care & grooming

The dense coat requires brushing two to three times per week, more during shedding. The Siberian is active and needs stimulation – both mental and physical. It loves climbing and hunting, and thrives with outdoor access or a secure garden.
